Xiaomi Announces First Ever Mi Notebook Air
Chinese Company Xiaomi, which is known in the tech world for making dones, has announced its first laptop line: Mi Notebook Air. Running Windows 10, the laptop comes in 12.5- and 13.3-inch sizes and silver and gold colors. Both models have 1080p displays, slim bodies and 1-megapixel webcams. Their keyboards are backlit, and the units charge via a USB Type-C port, which can provide 50 percent battery life in just 30 minutes.
The specifications inside the laptops differ slightly. The smaller, 12.9-millimeter-thick unit is equipped with an Intel Core M3 processor, 128 gigabytes of storage, 4 gigabytes of memory and no dedicated graphics card. There is one USB 3.0 port and an HDMI port, and the battery lasts up to 11.5 hours. Xiaomi will sell this version for about $520 or 3,499 yuan.
The larger, 14.8-millimeter-thick laptop is equipped with an Intel Core i5-6200U “Skylake-U” dual-core processor with 2.3 gigahertz of power. It also comes with 256 gigabytes of storage, 8 gigabytes of memory and an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card with 1 gigabyte of dedicated memory. Also installed are two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI port, and the battery lasts up to 9.5 hours. Xiaomi will sell this model for about $750 or 4,999 yuan.
The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is set for an August 2 launch in China. There is no confirmation on if the line will be released beyond that.
